February 15, 2008, Newsletter Issue #100: Father's Day Gift Baskets

Tip of the Week

Do you know what to give your father on Father's Day? Since many fathers seem to have everything they need, maybe you need to fill a gift basket with items that your dad doesn't normally buy. Check out your local gourmet store for some homemade jellies and jams to add to your gift basket. Look for some spicy pickle relish, or purchase a large jar of honey. Fruit preserves, such as blackberry, peach, or pear, are sure to please him, especially at breakfast time. If your dad loves to read, you can add a couple of his favorite magazine subscriptions to the gift basket, or slip in a couple of westerns or mysteries, along with a bag of his favorite coffee blend. Gourmet popcorn is also a hit with dads. They can munch this delicious treat while watching a ballgame. Finally, don't forget the nuts, beef jerky, and pretzels as you create a wonderful Father's Day gift basket for your dad.
